Transfer landline number to a pay as you go mobile SIM

I am currently with Virgin Media and plan to transfer my broadband to an EE unlimited data SIM card using a 4G modem. I've trialled this with a limited data SIM and get acceptable performance.

My Virgin telephone number is an old BT number that I transferred to Virgin some years ago.

My question is, can I transfer my Virgin landline number to an EE pay as you go SIM after requesting a PAC from virgin when I leave ?

Is it a Virgin landline number, or a Virgin mobile number you want to transfer?

You've said "transfer landline number" and also mentioned it being an ex-BT number, all that suggests a landline.

Then you want to transfer it to a PAYG SIM by requesting a PAC? A SIM is tied to a mobile number, and a PAC is to transfer a mobile phone number.

You can transfer landline numbers, but not onto SIMs and not using a PAC.

You can't transfer a landline number to a mobile number. They are different systems.

Thanks, I thought that was probably the case. I know you can transfer a landline number to some VOIP providers.
