i want to keep my number and obtain a PAC number to stay with EE the sim i have at the moment is very old and not compatible with the phone i intend getting. how best to do this

Welcome to the community,

You do not need to get a PAC code to get a new SIM card, you just need to apply for a new SIM card as yours does not fit the phone.

Porting and getting a PAC code is only done when changing network.

You can get a replacement SIM card here:

You can also go into an EE store if there is one near you open.
