Use a non-EE SIM as my second SIM?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+ which allows me to use two SIMs. As I've had it about 7 months it's locked to EE - no problems with that, I have no plans to change soon.

I want to stop carrying around two phones and use my work phone number on this same device - but I assume the lock to EE will apply to both SIMs.

Does anyone know if EE permit this - EE SIM as main numbers, VF SIM as secondary number , or does anyone know a way this can be done, please?

Yes, you just need to get EE to unlock it now it's > 6 months old.

@urzz1871 If you click the green wording below you can request the device to be unlocked. As your still in contract you’ll need to pay a fee of £8.99 this will be added to your next bill.

Cheers chaps - I'll give that a try.

I must be way out of date - last time I tried (a good few years ago, admittedly) EE wouldn't unlock any device while it was still in its contract.

Just tried this - the phone has two IMEIs - one for each slot.

I assume I want to get the slot 2 IMEI unlocked, as that's where I want to use the VF SIM as a secondary number on this device.

But the EE dialogue doesn't tie this up with my device or phone number, which of course uses the Slot 1 IMEI.

If I get IMEI 1 unlocked, does that unlock the whole device - or do I need to find a way to get just the slot 2 IMEI unlocked?

@urzz1871 The unlock will unlock the device not the sim slot so the request needs the physical Sim slot IMEI number.
