I'm holidaying in Scotland at the moment and have a 'No Service' issue.

Is there a known issue where EE doesn't allow SIM's on short term plans or MVNO's to connect to parts of its network?

I've been tested a few things.

I've got 5 EE SIM's on contract that works fine, an EE top up SIM and Plusnet SIM that don't work (also Three & 02 sim's not working) !

All tested in the same phone - it's not a SIM card related issue as the SIM works fine in more built up areas (and not phone issue - I've tested in 3 iPhones, an iPad and a 4GEE dongle).

Trying to connect to the Cell Site with Identifier: 5933325

Any Ideas? Thanks

Hello @toeknee1

Welcome to the EE community

Are you asking about EE phones, or virtual providers who "use EE"? It seems like both, and so the answer is different for both.

If you check your location using the coverage & status checker , does the result make any reference to "4G calling devices"?

If it does, that suggests the primary coverage in your location is on EE's extended-range 800Mhz service which requires a 4G-calling (VoLTE) device to use. Until fairly recently, this was only available to EE pay-monthly users and not PAYG or any MVNO. The rollout for PAYG users is "in-progress", and MVNOs are at best unclear.

O2 & 3 use different network sites to EE, so that comparison - whilst interesting - has little value in troubleshooting. The identifier you've quoted seems to be that of an individual sector and not a network site.
