Hi all, hope everyone is safe after this traumatic time. I have bought a Huawei E5785 mobile Wi-Fi because now, and again we go away in our caravan and there is either chargeable internet access, weak or none. I don't want to do monthly as it would be a waste of money don't need to download just use this Mi-Fi for Wi-Fi connection for Wi-Fi calling. Not only that, but I've got a PAYG SIM, can I use this once it's activated, and can you just add data without anything else?

Yes you can use PAYG SIM, it's not the cheapest option, but look into buying a Data Add On Pack etc.

It will all be about how much Data you think you are going to need or use etc, another Option would be to buy a Pre Loaded Data SIM.

I've just bought a £20 PAYG SIM, I can always buy data when needed without a monthly contract, but I'm not downloading or streaming it just so I can use my phone tablet etc.

I'm a bit confused by your answers. I'm talking about the phone you are making calls from, not the mobile router. That doesn't do calls anyway.

No I have wifi calling on my phone, provided you have a wifi connection which is why you use the Mifi because you then don't need to use any secure or public wifi

If your phone has Wi-Fi calling the network you use Wi-Fi on is some what irrelevant, and Wi-Fi calling will work with payg data., as long as you have a compatible phone and pay, only sim with it enabled

Thanks for the replies' everyone, after all the advice it turns out I was wrong to take out the PAYG SIM, I don't want a contract. This seems to be standard with all providers, but I found a solution to my problem of just using it occasionally without paying through the nose. Funny but it took Tesco to come to the rescue, I can use that PAYG SIM in my Mifi and add data as and when, the residue data stays there until you use it, all you have to do is opt out of automatic payments. So I guess every little helps. Stay safe everyone, always be there for others but don't leave yourself behind
