Tampnet 4G service North Sea

Can EE explain how they consider this network a satellite service? (when this isn't how the Tampnet service works at all) and how you are justifying the extortionate pricing they are currently charging.

To put things into perspective the operator GigSky is charging £20 for 5GB where as EE want over £1 per MB.

@nelson55 you are using a maritime network and EE are not going to cover the cost you run up by using that network. EE are passing that cost on to you. So it’s the service provider that’s charging EE for you to use their network and EE are then billing you that cost.

EE have classified it a Maritime network however its not. Its Tampnet which consists of fibre cable and 4G ariels and Boosters on Offshore platforms etc

Its strange how GIGSKY can offer a reasonable deal but EE want to charge you the earth.

I see Three and Vodafone will soon become roaming partners with Tampnet so Hopefully they offer data like gigsky at a reasonable price then EE will have to amend

@nelson55 It’s GIGSKY network so they can charge what they want. Your roaming with EE on that network so costs will be higher. And it’s not classified as EU roaming so it’ll be high as it’s international.

Gigsky are a provider who are allowing you to use the Tampnet 4g service for a reasonable price. So it can be done.

EE are charging a fortune meaning people wont use Tampnet through them. I certainly dont as their prices!
