Hi @Philren ,

If your mobile shows reasonable data performance on fast.com, it's likely that same network will suit for 4G LTE broadband.

I've used a 4G LTE router for my main home internet for over two years now and it's fine in most cases.

Latency sensitive applications may suffer a little and you won't be able to run a web server etc. accessible publicly and other such things due to CGNAT.

An external antenna is unlikely to be required except for particular circumstances and even then I would recommend a check of the SINR parameter to confirm it is needed.

Hi,

First post and from a non tech minded, be gentle.

Openreach have announced that they are not going to connect us to FTTC despite the cabinet and fibre being in place. So no chance of an update to my 8mb average broadband in the foreseeable future.

And I can’t find any real info on EE website, only suggestion to contact sales.

I am looking at 4G WiFi with an external antenna. Have any of you had any experience of this.

Do you have an EE mobile already? The service you receive on an EE mobile if you do, will be a good indicator of what you can expect from a 4G-router.
