@Pandorac , Are you wanting to upgrade your 4GEE wifi router and go to another provider with your mobile phone? I suspect this may be possible, although not sure why you want the phone contract from one provider and the 4GEE router through EE.

Could I still get my upgrade without renewing my phone contract with EE, if I wanted to go with another provider?

Upgrade of what? Your mobile router's contract has nowt to do with your mobile phone's contract.

That would usually be a no. If you want to upgrade your device, most vendors would expect you to take a minimum term contract with them so they can make a profit on providing you with an upgraded device at lower cost than you could buy unlocked from a retailer.

My personal advice is to purchase devices such as mobile phones, routers, and tablets etc. separately from mobile/sim contracts unless your savings are very large to justify any lock-in. Others may disagree with me on this point but this is just my personal view on the matter. 😎

I usually take my house internet and mobile phone service from different providers for high-availability and to avoid a single point of failure. 🤓
