Hi @Forgottenpoppy and welcome to the community

It may be worth disabling data permissions on your partners phone for all but the most obvious apps, and then re-enabling them one-by-one. That might help you & your partner, identify which app is causing the increased usage.

If no specific app is ringing "alarm-bells" in the data usage counter, the increased usage may be caused by background software updates.

I have 50gb/month

if I’m here alone data lasts all month with 3-4devices attached general usage

if my partner stays the data consumed in 24hrs is 11gb! At the same time his 4g on his Samsung also gets consumed. Have been through all his apps data consumption and there’s nothing unusual background app refresh is off on all devices mine and his. Wifi assist is off on all devices but it’s like his phone and the 4gee box are having a data slinging contest!
has anyone experienced this? Heeeelp

Will give that a try further to what we’ve tried so far

the Samsung he has gives complete breakdown of usage and nothing shows this level of usage

just weird has own 4g data also gets consumed almost completely at the same time 😳

Hi I’ve been through it all and nothing seems to relate to this problem sadly

it’s only this one device which causes the data to drain

I had to top up 1gb yesterday and 10gb this morning and the phone has been off most of that time and consumed 3gb in 20mins of being switched on we have turned off nearly all apps and still eating both his phone data and my 4gee data yet I can sit here for an entire month with my 3 devices attached admittedly can only stream two films and research artwork stuff but 50gb will last the whole month until that phone turns up and they wipe each other out of data and costs me a fortune.
I tried a factory reset on the wifi box that didn’t help if I’m honest it’s a bit worse now

so totally stumped

thanks

laura

It sounds really unusual, @Forgottenpoppy.

It does sound from your description that it's something between the router and his phone. The fact your phone is working with the router would say to me that it must be something to do with his phone.

Without being able to do more tests, like test other devices on it, it's difficult to tell though.

Have you spoken to our Tech Gurus on 150 about this?
