When I plug in my mobile router it switches itself off after a few seconds. Annoyingly takes the time it takes for my computer to boot so by the time the computer tries to connect the router has switched itself off and I have to turn it on again and then tell the computer to reconnect.

Is it possible to either lengthen the inactivity timeout or disable it?

Which mobile WiFi device are you using?

Is it switching off completely or going into power saving mode?

From the box:

Model: 4GEE Wifi Mini

Type: EE70-sAE8GB3

I'm guessing Power Saving mode as the battery LED is on (constant).

Yes, connected to my 12V DC (I live on a narrowboat) via a cigarette lighter to USB adaptor. I know this works as I used the same to charge my 'phone.

Hi @RaggedRat

Could you try a master reset of the device please?

Remove the bumper to uncover the Reset button.

Using a paperclip or pen, press and hold the Reset button for approxamately 5 seconds.

The device will restart automatically.

Let us know if it works any better.

Reset, re-entered passwords etc. Made no difference. All I want to know is can I disable this? Power saving isn't a problem as a) I always use it plugged in b) I always switch it off when I'm not using it.
