The chances are someone who is already waiting would get your port in the cabinet.

You could try giving the Broadband support team a call to see if they have any more information.

Hi,

I recently joined EE with 4 sim only deals and will be looking to see if I'd be better off signing up to EE broadband or staying we BT.

I thought I'd see what speeds I can get via the EE website and I get this;

"Fibre broadband not currently available due to current capacity constraints"

What does this mean as I'm already on the BT Fibre 1 package.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the cabinet is full and no spare ports.

Is there any more information available when you enter it in the BTW DSL Checker?

Hi,

As BT own EE, I'm not expecting any changes to be made in the cabinet. With that in mind, I was hoping I'd just swap my BT router for an EE router, the same way I swapped from Sky to BT as the infrastructure is owned by BT.

Hope the below helps and thanks for your help.

45.7

34.8

12.1

7.2

30.7

Available

Available

--

44.4

32

11.8

6.5

27.4

Available

Available

--

The infrastructue is operated and maintained by Openreach which is separated from BT and run as an independant company.

A change of ISP necessitates a cease and desist order so the port becomes available to the next in line if there is a "wait list" as it says available then you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks, and I appreciate BT and openreach are separate companies.

I’ll talk with BT when my contract is up. 👍
