Landline call numbers restricted including 0800

Why can I call only a limited range of landline numbers? I cannot even reach the EE 0800 help number.

Have you tried a different phone, and from the test socket?

I hadn't, but I have now, with a wired phone, and it works!

I assumed because I could hear the number dial out on the wireless phone everything would be working. Not sure what I can do about that but at least I know how to dial out successfully.

Sometimes these things just need a switch off switch back on, always worth a try.
