Well I found the problem...the wiring is an absolute joke. Openreach's wire coming from outside doesn't reach the socket properly so the wires had to be extended using splicer joins. There were joins upon joins to the socket. Hence the drop in speed....

Hi there, I recently moved house. When I was temporarily setting my networking stuff up I decided to use the extension in my living room. After moving stuff etc I plugged my stuff into the master socket...the speed has dropped?

I assume it will go back up but I was just wondering if this was normal?

Thanks all

No it's not normal in a correctly wired home. Post your full router stats from each socket.

That shouldn't be. Do you know how the extension is connected to the master? Are you sure the extension is really a slave? Can you post pix of them with faceplates removed?

There are no face plates per-say. There is a master socket in the hallway that my equipment is currently connected to. On the other side of that wall is that second socket with the extension from the third picture connected to that.

Pretty odd setup to be honest.
