Nonsensical broadband speed estimates

I've just renewed my contract and the details they give don't make sense:

"We estimate that your line can support download speeds of between 144.7 Mb/s and 145.6 Mb/s, and upload speeds of between 26.4 Mb/s and 27.3 Mb/s.

Your Minimum Guaranteed Download Speed will be 177.40 Mb/s."

I assume the min guaranteed speed is an error. I'm not expecting that speed. Has anyone had this anomaly?

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

You seem to be getting 192Mbps now, so the min guaranteed speed seems sensible. Have you gone for the same speeds as last time, or reduced to Fibre 100 ?

The confirmation email says Fibre Max 100 but in the t&cs I had to read it referred to Fibre Max 145, and the EE man definitely said it would be the same speeds as before. (Remember it has not switched over yet).

I just found it odd that the min guarantee speed was significantly higher than the estimated speed.

I think if it were me I would be getting back to CS and getting them to re-issue the contract with the proper figures - just in case you have an issue in the future!

Fibre Max 145 is just an old EE name for Fibre Max 100. They refer to the same product, G.Fast capped at 165 Meg. Your line is well capable of reaching the cap. So the min guarantee speed isn't really relevant.
