Clash of features?

What cordless phone can I add? I have just bought a landline with answerphone and call blocking. What happens if I now buy (for another room) a cordless phone also with answerphone and call blocking?

What does this mean? That with your BB from EE you have a landline, 1571 Voicemail & Anonymous Call Rejection?

If so, 1571 only kicks in when your phone is unanswered. If you have an actual handset in your line (in any room) with Answerphone it will answer if you don't & take a msg on itself. 1571 will only come into play when your phone is engaged with another call incl. taking a msg.

As for Call Blocking it will be far more sophisticated than anything EE can offer.

Thank you. I have EE Broadband and landline, but the phone I have purchased is a BT Décor 2600, with its own answer machine and call blocking (it is being delivered on Thursday). I already have caller display from EE.

As I need a phone in other rooms, I intend to buy a couple of cordless phones. They mostly offer the same features as the 2600 and I was concerned that an incoming call might get answered by two answer machines. But, from what you say, the corded phone would take precedence. I guess I do not need the answerphone feature on the cordless phones as it would be superfluous.

OIC! You already have a corded handset with Answerphone & want to buy handsets for other rooms. I wasn't considering that scenario at all.

As things stand you could get a cordless base station w/out Answerphone + slaves for the same model & leave the Answerphone & Call Blocking to the existing corded handset.

However if it's not too late to cancel the Decor 2600, it would be better to get a complete system of a cordless base station with Answerphone + slaves for the same model which includes a similar Nuisance Call Blocker such as BT Premium Phone - Three Handsets . That model is top of their range; there are cheaper ones.

Great advice. I only wish I had asked before I bought the corded phone. Never mind, I shall save on the price of the cordless. Many thanks for that.

As it hasn't yet arrived you must have ordered online, by phone or by post. As such you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from delivery to cancel FoC.
