Porting landline number to VoIP provider

Hi,

I am aware that previously if you ported your landline number away EE/BT would cease the line. However, now that lines are allocated with no phone number, is this still the case? In other words if I ported my number away to Sipgate, would EE cease the line or reclassify it as a line without a phone service and continue the VDSL2 broadband service?

How can you port a landline no. away if the line has no landline no?
VDSL BB still needs a landline to go over even if you have not been given a landline no.
You still have a landline even when it has no no. It is probably the no. you handed over when you switched to "Fibre BB W/out Landline Number".

So the short answer is No cuz:

You don't a no. to port.
You can't have VDSL BB w/out a landline.

I have a landline number! That's why I want to port it away! The question
is will they cease the broadband or turn it into broadband without a phone
number.

What landline no. do you have? How do you know it's the landline your BB runs over?

My previous answer stands even if the no. you know is that of the landline on which your BB is hosted.

@whiskerp you would need the support from cs to do what you mention.

If you just rely on the VoIP provider then as you suspect EE will most likely cease your current line and broadband.

Other isp’s who have more online cs support are able to do it via their forum, however EE don’t seem able to do this here.
