I'm not sure what you mean by a unmanaged switch I meant a normal ethernet splitter box not a switch one

I don't think so, @pip11 . They are simple merge/demerge wiring used in pairs - see About Ethernet Splitters

I wouldn't call that a "splitter box". They also have to be used in pairs.
