My contract for my Galaxy Watch 46mm is coming to an end and as this is now nearly a 3 year old device I have upgraded to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

I assume this new device will take the number of the current Galaxy Watch which will then become just a stand alone device ? I want to give it to someone and wondered what functionality will be lost now it is no longer connected to a plan (other than just not being able to receive standalone calls/messages)

TIA
