Watch eSIM Temporary Number

I just got my Samsung Watch 4G and setup the eSIM from my phone, however, when calling out on the watch it appears to have its own number and when my phone is off incoming calls get missed. I've read here that the number for the eSIM should be the same as my main contract.

Is this a fault or does it take a while for the eSIM's number to sync to my existing contract number?

I have a Pixel 5, and researched the watch before I bought it to make sure it was compatible.

However, during the installation process I came across the message "the ee network isn't supported on your watch".

The bit I must have missed is that the eSIM activation for EE isn't compatible with the Pixel 5. So to get around this, I used an old iPhone 6S, which is compatible, and successfully activated my watch on the network.

After this, I re-paired the phone back to my Pixel 5.

Just to clarify this @James_B - I put my EE SIM in the iPhone 6 whilst it activated the eSIM, in order to identify itself to your network.

Hi @Timewarp,

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G is only compatible with Samsung phones.

You can see the full list of compatible devices at www.samsung.com/uk/wearables/galaxy-watch/.

The Pixel 5 is only compatible with the Bluetooth version.

The watch has its own number for billing purposes

But if you bought it with a phone that isn't compatible then there is nothing EE can do.

Pairing it with a different phone first doesn't make a difference.

Shame - I thought I'd solved it then by pairing the other phone first.
