Is your Apple Watch paired to your I-Phone? Then you should be able to make calls from your watch or your phone and answer either on the watch or phone.

I have had no problem pairing the watch and it is working fine, but when I try to make a call, the call does not connect - all goes go to voicemail.

Maybe @Chris_B will know more what to do and can help. 'Are you able to receive calls on your phone ok? May need to check settings there.
