Smart Phone not operational at all

I cannot access contact list, e mail, text or dial out nor can I receive calls. This happened before a while back and through live chat (which seems to have disappeared) EE got me back and running. I've disconnected the battery and cleaned the sim but this has made no difference. Basically I have a phone I can't use.

How was the issue resolved last time this happened?

What type of phone are you using?

Are you a pay as you go or pay monthly customer?

Hi, last time I did a live chat on EE, they reset something at their end I took the sim out cleaned it, put it back in and switched on and it was back to normal. Have done the same tod ay and nothing. I have a Microsoft lumia but not sure of model tho I know it is 5 yrs old.

I can access camera and internet but cannot bring up contact list, texts emails or phone keypad. However I can receive calls but number only shows from known contacts.
