Pixel 2 fingerprint and pin issue

Hi, when trying to wake up my phone the fingerprint is not being recognised so then I try my pin. It then either won't recognise that I have entered the pin or says "wrong pin". I have tried to swap from a pin to a pattern but same issue. Some days I have to restart the phone up to 12 times before it lets me in so now I have no fingerprint sign in which has disabled many features. Any views on if this can be fixed or is it dead?

Yes but now it won't let me re add my fingerprints because it's unable to accept the backup of pin or pattern etc

No as I disabled all of the log in security ie phone is completely unlocked all the time

It may be worth backing up your phone and restoring it to factory settings, @Badpianoplayer.
