Anyone looking forward to what's announced tonight?

Ok, most of it seems to have leaked already and we seem to know exactly what the Pixel 6 will look like, but you never know, maybe there'll be some surprises.

I think this is the first time in ages that I'm excited to see a new Google branded phone. I started off with a Nexus One back in the day, but recent devices have been a bit lacklustre. The Pixel 6 Pro looks fairly impressive.

Looks like there'll be some free headphones from participating dealers. EE have it as coming soon, so we can expect an update from them very soon hopefully.

Exactly. Has to be the most ludicrously over priced phone. Lots of the country also can't get 5g (including Me), so why do EE force people to go onto much more expensive contracts for a service they cant even get. Makes zero sense. Why do EE no longer do 4g only plans?

As I can't get 5g, why do EE force me to pay for this service. Just reaks of money grabbing.

Because 5G is coming.

Two years ago 5G was only available in two places nationwide, London and Edinburgh.

Yet here we are, two years later and I can get 5G in Leeds, York, Doncaster, Goole, and Selby to name a few. These aren't big cities, these aren't test locations, these are real world examples of 5G in small communities such as Selby/Goole and smaller cities and towns such as York and Doncaster.

Just because you don't have 5G now, doesn't mean you won't have it in six months or a year, at which point you'd be in contract on a 4G only contract and you'd be missing out on a better and more reliable service because you were too cheap to pay a couple of extra quid for 5G coverage.

I don't how, in this day and age, people can still be shocked when something increases in price. If you bought a car two years ago, and then went back to the dealer and told them you wanted the newer model of that car, would you expect to pay the same amount of money? No. It would cost more money.

You're not just paying for the phone, you're paying the tariff as well. Your logic males no sense.

Hi @Richiebb ,

If you want to buy a phone separately to own it immediately and have control over its firmware, you can do that.

I personally refuse to purchase locked devices from service providers.
