When I video call, my phone says its overheating & then turns off . Is this dangerous?

@Suebob34 It’s getting hot because it’s draining the battery quickly. This is not good for the battery at all, Batteries do get warm when being used but it shouldn’t get to the point of turning off because it’s that hot. What device is it and how long have you had it. If the battery has chemically aged this could be the reason as chemically aged batteries will get hotter quicker.

Is your phone on the latest software?

I use Facetime on my iPhone, it does get warm during a video call, because it drains a lot of battery, even for a short video call. but it shouldn't be overheating

@AuntieLouise That’s probably because you need to have the battery replaced. It’s getting hot because the battery is drain fast. The s9 is a few years old now so the battery is past it’s best, it’s chemically age.
