My Moto 4g LTE running android 4.4.4 insists that I upgrade the App, but it won't.

When did you stop supporting my phone?

Android 4.4 is coming on for 8-9 years old, and it shouldn't be a huge surprise that some current apps won't support it.

Have you considered changing to a more current phone that's able to run one of the more recent Android releases? If the EE app has stopped working, there's a good chance it won't be the only one. I think that's the oldest release still supported by WhatsApp, for example.
