Update has lead to poor battery life - Galaxy A70

I installed an update on my Galaxy - as per the request from my phone.

This has now lead to the battery life of the phone really draining.

I left my phone on over night just to test this, and with no usage at all, it drained nearly 10% in around 8 hours.

Any advise on this?

I have had the phone for almost 18 months, and did have the some issue when I first received it, but changed the phone and the battery was much better.

Any comments on this? Anyone ad the same issue? Any advise?

Hi,

Try clearing your phone cache under recovery and see if that helps. There will be some change in your power profile depending on the update as this is normal.

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

10% isn't an unusual amount of battery to use in an 8 hour period. Even if you aren't using the phone at the time, your phone will be updating apps in the background.

Thanks for this, although its strange that this seems to have only changed since the update.

I've never noticed this amount of battery life being taken prior to the update.

I will continue to monitor this, along with the updates of any apps.
