Moto g9 plus. No option for Wifi calling.

I have tody received my new Moto g9 plus from Lenovo. I dont see any option for selecting Wifi calling, am I missing something?

When I bought it over the phone I was assured the moto g9 plus could do WIfi calling on EE. Today I phoned Lenovo tech help and was told although this phone will do wifi calling on some service providers it will not do so on EE. They can't both be correct!

Some other points that may or may not be important. I also fitted a new nano sim from EE - my old phone had a micro sim. Wifi signal is about 50 meg download and 10 up coming from a BT Smart Hub 2.

According to a couple of online guides, the menu option should be under Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced > WiFi-calling.

If the device wasn't sourced from EE directly, then the menu options can't be guaranteed unless you flash the phone with EE firmware (for which you won't get any support on here, and is done entirely at your own risk).

I think the advice from Lenovo that some options are network-dependent, is correct.

Yes, I have followed the guides but the WiFi-calling option is not there.

If I were to flash the phone with EE firmware what is the procedure and what is the risk you speak of. Maybe any risk is not worth it on a brand new phone. Presumably I can return it to Lenovo as long as it's done within 14 days.

No-one on here is going to advise you on the process or procedure for flashing device software - Google is your friend.

My recommendation would be to return the device under the 14day statutory "distance selling" rules.

Yes I think return is the best option for me. If my experience is anything to go by I expect Lenovo will have a high rate of returns for the same reason.
