Samsung A21s mic not working

Hi all, first time poster. My main mic isn't working so I am reliant on speakerphone or video calls at the moment. I've cleaned the mic and done all my updates but alas nothing doing. Any suggestions folks? Thanks in advance! R

Hi @Raisins1

As a first check, have you restarted your phone?

Do other apps that use the bottom mic (I believe this includes voice recorder) work ok?

You might need to consider a full backup of all your data, and factory reset - in order to indentify whether this is a hardware or software issue.

Thanks Bristolian. Yes I've restarted a few times. Voicerecorder doesn't work. Was hoping to avoid a factory reset but I think I'll have to accept it and give it a whirl!

Before factory reset, worth trying to boot into "safe mode", then give the microphone a test?

Also maybe worth trying another microphone recording/tester app too just in case, while in normal mode too?

Unless you have tried all this.
