Sony Xperia 5 II headphone offer

Is there a real reason why EE aren't offering the free headphones with the Xperia 5 II that all other suppliers are offering? It seems that EE aren't appreciating their customers as much.

Will there be a option to retroactively applying the offer?

i was thinking exactly the same thing. just spotted this on xperiarewards.co.uk:

* This offer is only applicable to O2, Vodafone, GiffGaff, Carphone Warehouse, Currys, Mobiles.co.uk, E2Save, and iD Mobile customers who have purchased a Sony Xperia 5 II.

so pretty much everyone but EE. I was about to upgrade but now might have to rethink.

I did upgrade in the end as with my friends and family discount it was a good deal, and I was on a sim only plan before so leaving that would have cost me a fair amount. But if you're out of contract you can get more data and the headphones for cheaper, even on an EE plan at affordable mobiles!

yeah i'm on friends and family too but only 1 year into contract so it's either upgrade with ee or stick with my xperia 5 for another year. disappointed with ee
