The sound has gone on my oppo smartphone, ringtones are working but not media or voicecalls. Can anyone help please. Obviously I cannot phone EE.

Have you tried restarting your device?

You may need to factory reset. As ringtones are working then it's not hardware related but likely software.

Many thanks for your support. I did try the options on the Oppo site and although nothing worked at the time, it did begin to work later this afternoon.
