iPad warranty

Is there any way to escalate an issue with the repair team if you know their appraisal is wrong. If someone can explain how this is damaged I will be super grateful.

What are you saying is damaged here? Maybe after you put it in bulldog clips you have damaged the screen but that won't be covered under warranty.

Also damage isn't covered anyway.

Hi. This is the picture the repair centre provided. Also I’m not terribly happy they used bulldog clips on a £1000 plus price of equipment.

It’s meant to be the side I believe. This iPad doesn’t leave my desk so I’m baffled by their diagnostic.

@Blackline72 On the image provided it says back housing damage but they are showing a picture of the side ? Where’s the damage.

This is what I’m trying to work out. I can’t see any damage at all. I think they are trying to pull a fast one but EE has never been a problem before.

There is no damage that I can see on there.

I'd question them why they are holding it with bulldog clips. Pads on it or not. That is not acceptable.

Issue is this isn't EE they use Brightstar I believe.

Personally I would ask for it back and send it to Apple direct.

Definitely. I will get it back as they tried to say that was a £599.75 fix. But I also need to escalate within ee as well as I don’t find this acceptable. Especially the bulldog clips, that set my teeth on edge seeing that.

Raise it with EE, get the iPad back and if you see any marks where the bulldog clips are give them hell.

The sooner EE ditch Brightstar the better.

Hi @Christopher_G Sorry, I forgot to tag you. The pic supplied was from the repair centre. The use of bulldog clips was unnecessary and there was no damage on the iPad as it never leaves my desk. So I would like to escalate to get a resolution on this. Please advise the course of action I need to take. Thanks

@Blackline72 The bulldog clips are being used to hold the device on its side so the photo can be taken. But there is no damage on the side and the use of the bulldog clips to hold the device in this way is totally unacceptable. I would raise more than a complaint with this I’ll ask this to be escalated as a mistreatment of someone’s property.

out of curiosity why was the device sent off to be looked at ?

There was an intermittent fault with the very bottom part of the screen when swiping up and it would go into a boot loop every so often.

I spoke to the repair centre and they said my unit was bent, yeah I held back a laugh on that 😂

But the guy on the phone was a tad condescending as well. Not the best warranty experience I have had.

@Blackline72 Like you can tell if it even was from that photo. Lol. I would also make a formal complaint about the use of the clips of the device. If they are a Apple approved repair centre Apple wound not be happy about the use of bulldog clips. There isn’t even anything between the clips and the device to protect the device.

So to close off the saga. iPad went back to apple and they replaced it immediately and without fuss and without trying to charge me £600. Moral of the story, avoid that repair centre who tried to con me out of a lot of money! Go through apple. Fast resolution and no BS. 👍

Glad you got it sorted.

Many people believe you need to go back to the seller for warranty but actually the best method is always the manufacturer.

I'd always go to Samsung for my issues. They manufacturer the devices I use so they'll know best.

@Blackline72 I’ll email the repair place about how Apple found the only fault was the screen having issues and the device wasn’t bent at all.
