Data error appears in my iPhone settings,

I received an alert yesterday on my iPhone XR stating there was an data error, and I would be unable to send and receive calls and texts. I checked for iPhone updates, and installed the latest ISOS version, afterwards the phone was ok for a couple of hours.

the iPhone screen then started displaying a message “verifying update”

this message is till appearing on my screen after About Q15 hours, I can’t switch the phone off, I can see I am receiving text notifications, but the screen message won’t clear.

Forgot to mention I cannot receive calls, they are going straight to voicemail
