Good question.

No, it seems to be “random” or at least I don’t have enough data to determine a pattern. Certainly one caller is on EE another on Vodafone.

Hi

iPhone X. iOS 14.2. WiFi calling off.

Recently I’m finding sometimes (50% of the time) when people call me my phone rings for a short while (perhaps 1-2 rings), then cuts off. The caller is told I’m busy, which I’m not!

This appears to be happening at multiple locations, so not cell or WiFi related.

Any ideas?

Is this only happening on incoming calls from particular numbers?

Thanks for confirming @ibeadam.

Are you able to try your SIM in another device to see if this continues?

If it does, I would recommend trying a replacement SIM.

An update.

I called EE and they reset some network settings. Also reset them on the phone.

The issue persists.

We switched off WiFi calling and unpaired ringing with other devices.

The issue persists.

We did a factory reset of the phone.

The issue persists.

EE sent a new SIM.

The issue persists.

I am waiting to borrow another phone as that seems the only remaining option!

The problem unfortunately still persists.

I sent VM OFF followed by VM ON to 150 and now at least instead of getting ‘busy’, callers get transferred to voicemail. Unfortunately I still only get about 1 ring before this happens. Still not all calls, some come through fine.

EE called to get an update, but it even took them 2 days before I was able to answer their call! According to them they got the full length of rings their end before going to voicemail, where as I only got a single ring.

I still have a spare phone on its way to try. No idea what else to do?

Thanks for coming back to us.

If you can try the SIM card in another phone and let us know if the same happens, we will then be able to see if this is the SIM card or phone.

Speak soon 🙂
