VPN ports - personal hotspot

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but perhaps someone can help?

I need to be able to use my iphone as a hotspot for my laptop to be able to access my work vpn. Currently it won't allow me to and my IT company have said I need to get EE to open a couple of ports for me. I've sat on the phone for hours so far and cannot get through. Any ideas of how to do this without wasting any more hours of my life? Many thanks

no - that's my problem. I can connect to it via wifi from my laptop but nothing from my phone. I need to use my phone as a personal hotspot to connect my laptop to when i'm out to allow me to access the vpn but it won't let me connect for some reason.

@JennieM1 This sounds like a iPv6 issue that’s not allowing the connection. The server your trying to connect to doesn’t accept iPv6 only iPv4 you need to have your company check that iPv6 connections are accepted.

you could also try turning off content lock on your EE account, if it’s set to strict this also might not be allowing the connection. After this there is nothing EE can do to change anything as nothing is blocked to stopped the connection.
