upgrade sent a new sim

I upgraded my iphone 8 to an iphone 11 and was sent a new sim but I want to use the sim I already have, is that ok? Do I have to do anything with the new sim I have been sent?

Yes, you can continue to use your old SIM. You would only need to activate the new one if the old one didn't fit your new phone.
