&lt;P&gt;I'm sorry to hear that your Dad is in hospital.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If your Dad is on a SIM plan, it shouldn't be longer than a 12 month contract.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Are you able to text UP to 150 from his phone to see if he is eligible to upgrade?&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;As &lt;a href="https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/43656"&gt;@bristolian&lt;/a&gt; said, you can put an EE SIM into any unlocked phone.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>HELP! I need some advice for my Dad who is in hospital</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi there,&amp;nbsp; my Dad is quite ill in hospital and relies on his phone for the only way to communicate.&amp;nbsp; Anyway his phone is causing him problems as he's, amongst other things had a mini stroke, so anyway I have sourced the Doro 8040 which looks perfect, thing is he already has a 3 year sim only contract and the phone seems only available on contract...any ideas how I can sort this out?&amp;nbsp; Also not knowing about these things, can you put any sim into any phone? &amp;nbsp; thanks for your time. hope you can help me urgently,&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi &lt;a href="https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/767788"&gt;@Mummysaint&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sorry to hear about your Dad.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You could login to myEE or call 150, and see if they can offer an upgrade to your chosen phone, I'm not sure if it's one that EE offer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Alternatively you could look at buying your chosen phone SIM-free and then put your existing SIM into it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
