EE App login issues

I have the EE app on my mobile phone. When I try to log in, I endure a blank scree and interminably slow EE logo. Then, I enter my username and password. EE sends me a one-time 6-digit code to enter. I enter it - blank screen, slow logo then - back to the login screen. 2nd try - exactly the same. 3rd try - still no better.

EE asks for reviews : I gave the above information and got told to contact the Helpdesk - which (according to the website) I can only do through the app.

Logging on the website works.

I'm only PAYG - was considering a monthly account but if the app is this defective and support so poor, I don't trust EE with a long-term contract.
