Hello,

I have the EE App on an Android tablet and it uses the screen lock passkey okay on that device. I only use that at home as I have EE BB only. But when I am out and about I believe I should be able to access EE WiFi. So I need to use the app on my iPhone SE. Not on an EE mobile contract.

It is latest iOS and the app installs, but then insists on displaying a QR code during login but I cannot scan it. I cannot even screenshot as it disappears as button clicks.

This is way more than 2 factor auth. It needs a username, pasword, SMS text code, an email code and then the QR code (!!!!!) and still cannot login into the app. Very secure, thanks.

@DrSkids The latest iOS is 26.1 and this will install on any SE that runs iOS 18.

User name, obviously and your account passcode, makes sense.

it’s an email code then a text code. It’s account security.

Not seen a QR code on gaining access to the EE app. And you don’t need the EE app to gain access to EE hotspots.

I agree with your comments, those are the usual steps that i follow. It is my experience that when I try to connect to an EE WiFi hotspot it insists on directing me to the app and then this additional level of QR code which is tricky as I am unable to scan it. I thought my iPhone was up to date as it recently updated the iOS to 18.6.2.

When I am wandering I will try again, to see if things have changed. My last attempt was as I was leaving UK for a long trip at beginning of Nov. I wondered if it was because the primary us eof the EE app was onmy android tablet. That uses the screenloack code as an additional security step.

@DrSkids , If you go to settings and then updates, you should then be able to choose IOS 26.1, have you tried that?
