I have the app set up. I pause the wifi when it's time for him to come off. The app is always down at night around the time I have to get my son off. Drives me nuts.

Great, no Internet! I have a WiFi limit set up to stop my daughter staying up on devices, or getting up and using them... including the TV. She is not with me tonight, and the telephone timer has now caused the programme I'm watching to suddenly stop, and I can't do anything about it because the app is down!

Oops! Accidentally put your response as the solution haha. I think the solution would be for EE/BT to give some notice about the app going down, I for one would make sure the app's timers are off and instead switch the router off to allow little one to settle.
