If I join my ee will I have to change my original PAYG service to a monthly contract.

At present I top up as and when needed,irregularly!

No, you can continue with PAYG & register it to MyEE.

Hi James,../yes I am an EE mobile customer, on the original PAYG service…can I transfer/request new sim for a new phone from the My EE account login?

Thanks Jim,…however I wasn’t wanting to replace my existing sim!

I’m about to buy a New phone,but before doing so I am wanting to determine how I would go about requesting sim, and transferring my number to New phone.

Hoped this could be done via myEE..

Hi @jfostern,

Your number is linked to your SIM card, rather than your handset.

If you purchase a new phone, you'd just need to pop your existing SIM card into it. If it isn't the correct size, you can order a replacement via the link I provided earlier.

Thanks again Jim,……the link has a button for ‘Order Physical Sim’.

does this reveal the option to state the sim size (since different to existing sim),or maybe new phone model?…and since I’m doing all this from my ee,presumably the sim will automatically have my phone number?….

The replacement would have your same telephone number and would be a multi SIM, which allows you to push out the relevant size SIM for your device.

Just one final point Jim….

Will the data on the new sim include the existing PAYG service/plan I am on?……such that once the sim is installed into the new phone,..its just a case of switching on phone and away I go!?

There would be no changes to your current EE plan.

Yes, a replacement SIM is just that, a new physical SIM with the same number, the same plan and the same credit.

Interest point!….

Does that mean (in theory) one could have two phones in operation with same number? …old phone and new phone.

No, your old SIM will be disconnected when you register the new one.

If it is for a SIM size change, rather than a lost/stolen replacement, you'll need to activate the new SIM at ee.co.uk/activate-sim.
