Data gifting - help please

I need to Gift data to my wife's number - I have successfully done so in the past, but now I get the error

"We will have it fixed soon

Sorry, we can't show this device's data right now. Please try again later."

I have recently switched to a new contract, but it is still one with unlimited data so gifting shouldn't be a problem...the site shows that I have data available to gift.

Anyone know what the issue is? My wife is currently on roaming outside of the EU which may be causing a problem? (although I test-gifted to my other non-roaming numbers and that wouldn't work either)

I have tried the app, the mobile website and desktop website, all with the same result

Where is she outside EU? Quite likely to be her roaming situation.

She's in South Africa

But, like I said, I tried gifting data to someone who isn't roaming and that wouldn't work either....

1 thing at a time if you please.

You can't gift data to someone who is in a place where they cannot use their UK allowances. S.A. is such a place.
Where are you?
