I'm not sure which of your comments were aimed at which suggestions, but WiFi-calling works for incoming calls as well as outgoing. It allows you to use your phone as normal anywhere you have a working WiFi signal.

I can appreciate your frustration with delays to fault fixes, the status checker is the best way to get updates.

Hi,

for a couple of weeks now there has been poor network status giving poor calls that drop out and hang up randomly. I keep checking the Network Status Report for my postcode MK45 3HA and I tell it that my phone is an iPhone13.

Every time it has said that there is a problem being worked on and that normal status should be resumed within 16 hours, well that has been for a couple of weeks!!!

Please could somebody tell me what is the problem and when will it be fixed ?

Are you waiting for a replacement part?

Are you having trouble getting onto the land where the mast is?

thanks

PhilipJ

Hi @philipj451

Can you use EE WiFi calling service?

https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/getting-started-and-upgrading/using-your-phone-features/how-do-i-use-wifi-calling

If it's a parts issue then you'll just need to wait. Once repaired and if you're registered then your receive notification.

Thanks

Whilst I can fully appreciate your frustration, there are a multitude of reasons why some network faults are not resolved as promptly as all end-users would like. A third-party dependency is a common one, but not necessarily the reason here.

If you have a 4G-calling device, it may be worth dropping your phone to 3G (or disabling) 4G as a test. I would not recommend anyone do this for anything other than workaround/testing purposes, but if the issue is on the 4G-layer, then forcing your calls onto legacy techs such as 2G/3G - if available - may provide a temporary workaround.

Hi, yes I can but that only works for my outgoing calls.

When I have a call coming in it is on the network and I get poor quality and dropping.

I'm not complaining, I just wanted to know if there was more information

PhilipJ

Hi bristolian,

True, but a bit more information on the Network Status site would be helpful rather than just saying "We're on it. We expect good service within 16 hours, but some fixes take a little longer", it gets a bit tedious after 2 weeks.

PhilipJ

Hi bristolian,

again thanks, I didn't know that about WiFi calling for incoming. Guess this technology is getting so clever it's running away from our understanding 🙂

regards

PhilipJ
