Unable to make calls

Hello everyone,

I'm currently unable to make or receive any calls. Can get texts ok and access the Internet.

When making calls I get nothing. I have plenty of signal but the call disconnects immediately after dialling the number.

I don't have another SIM card and I don't have another phone.

Tried WiFi calling and no difference.

Any ideas?

Does the issue affect all calls, or just calls to and from certain numbers?

All calls. I can't even call 150.

I can imagine it must be really frustrating.

I'd recommened trying to manually select the network, then switch back to automatic network selection.

It's also worth checking whether VoLTE / 4G Calling is enabled in your phone's mobile network settings, as calls can fail if this setting has become disabled.

I have tried the network thing and no difference.

I have no idea what volte is but I'm set to 5g preferred?

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S23

I tried that numerous times yesterday and no difference. When I call out it just does same as I mentioned above. People also can't call me.

Also, I do have my deceased stepdads old phone. It's no longer registered with its current EE SIM card but I just tried mine in it and still couldn't make calls

Maybe it needs unlocking if it was bought new before Dec '21.

You can just apply for unlocking by using the Unlocking your device form and giving its IMEI no., which you can obtain be dialling *#06# into its keypad.

Unlocking from what exactly?

I have always used my phone on the EE network and I'm using an EE SIM?

You won't need to unlock an EE device to use an EE SIM card.

If you're unable to make or receive calls in another phone, we would need to get this looked into to find out what could be causing this. If you can call us from any other phone our tech guides will help you further.

Older phones might need unlocking from being locked to a particular network. Obviously if your deceased stepdads old phone was always used with an EE SIM then it won't need unlocking.

Hi,

Thanks everyone, I went to an EE store and they managed to call for me. What they found happened was that an EE Guide changed my plan. I believe it was at an end but they changed to one that is data only. Didn't make me aware of this!

Anyhow, as my bill has since been produced i cannot change plans now as its showing as outstanding. I did actually pay my bill yesterday but its not gone on yet 🤣

Got myself a temporary PAYG number until resolved!
