All the 5g settings that used to be on this phone have vanished, perhaps EE think their network is good enough so the setting to switch off calls over 5g has been removed. Oh well I will wait to hear back from them...

Anyone else noticing more calls dropping on 5g recently. I do alot of driving around the UK, calls on the move are dropping in known good areas, nearly always with a good signal and always on 5g.

Have raised with EE but not confident it will be resolved. Phone setting all correct btw....

The thing is it's always strong signal and when it happens I can't redial the call again straight away with full signal on display. Happened this morning stationary at one of my sites in Hemal. The base station is a cross the road. Call dropped with full signal 5g. Something isn't right.

Alot of 5g is using existing 4g spectrum so not sure propagation is the issue here....

No "G" is any shorter or longer a range than any other "G". 5G on 700MHz is actually longer than 4G on 2600Mhz if you wanted to state the opposite - it's the frequency that dictates coverage, not the radio technology.

Coverage is only likely to be the issue if calls are dropping with low indicated coverage, the OP has mentioned that indicated coverage is good when calls drop - this is more likely to be a handover issue of some kind.

Are calls consistently dropping in the same locations?

Today a call dropped while I was stationary, again on 5g with the base station over the road. This site is one I visit regular and never had issues using the phone there.

You get to know areas where signal can be unreliable but now I'm seeing issues in good areas, even when I'm looking at the base station.

Anyway I'll wait to see if anyone else has noticed this happening.

The call even dropped while talking to EE this morning and annoyingly they didn't bother to call me back haha

Pixel 10 Pro btw....eSim

Are you using your phone in hand or via Bluetooth.

Thanks

The example above parked up phone on dash mounted cradle using car BT handsfree HP2 7XX

Also every morning now along the M4 at Slough. Always continuous coverage now drops calls every day for weeks EE said issues with call handovers last week, today told me they can't access that data hmmmmm 😆

I would expect handover issues on major transport routes to be causing significant complaint volumes and be a high priority fault. If you can collate timed & dated examples of dropped calls, CS agents can pass those to (non-CS-facing) technical teams for further checks.

If you're getting call issues with line-of-sight to the serving antennas, something is clearly awry. Do other EE users locally have the same issue? Does your phone have an option to disable 5G/lock 4G to see if the issue persists?

The only sensible next step would be to narrow the issue down to specific radio carriers and/or bands. Your examples will help with that, otherwise you can identify it with some basic radio knowledge and a suitable app.
