Why is EE still using SMS? I frequently find the service doesn't work, so I cannot login to my account or access the helpline. Why don't you use one of the many much more secure authenticator apps that are not reliant on this outdated technology? For example, Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, OKTA Authenticator?

SMS are not encrypted either, meaning that in transit, they can be read by anyone – this includes your carrier and anyone else they may share this information with. Companies also tend to keep copies of users' chat sessions stored on servers, which can then be hacked or exposed.

You only need to search this forum to find many other users having similar problems not receiving SMS message. Yes, I can switch-off my phone, get someone to send me a voice message and then restart my phone in an attempt to clear the buffer on your server, but this doesn't always work.It also takes the best part of an hour. Please get your systems updated from 30 year old SMS message technology and tell your customers to do the same.

It would take a conspiracy theorist to be concerned by operators intercepting text messages on anything other than a user-specific basis.
