Texting non-UK numbers

I’m a new customer and have set up most features on my mobile, but I cannot send texts to non-UK numbers — specifically, to people in Australia. I’m on a pay monthly plan and have an additional £20 monthly spending cap, so I can’t see a payment reason for this. I’ve enabled mobile data on my iPhone, etc.
What feature do I turn on with EE to be able to text overseas mobiles?

Have you activated roaming on your account.

Text ROAMING to 150.

If you're texting an iPhone via iMessage or WhatsApp then the calls are over data and free (but use data).

Check whether you can make international calls. Having an international call bar enabled at account-level often causes these symptoms.
