topic Device provisioning for 5G Standalone in Mobile Services

Hello all,

I have noted that my area is currently covered by 5G Standalone. Whilst I appreciate that there is an incentive to get customers to upgrade to make use of it, do we at least have any information on device provisioning for other profiles?

I have a Sierra Wireless enabled Modem that has 3GPP Release 16 and another that is 3GPP Release 17 capable, yet I am starting to realize the carrier is either whitelisting IMEI for 5GSA or is reading the UE data to confirm if they will permit it.

This means that the only thing I can do is ask how profiles get made, so here I am I guess!

This list will also be updated as the devices expand, so it's worth keeping an eye.

There is a good discussion about 5G standalone and device compatibility on the 5G Standalone (SA) forum thread.

Ali

I think my point is, a device is technically compatible in the sense that their modems are able to connect. For example, my cellular router has a 3GPP Release 17 Modem so it certainly CAN work with standalone, my question is whether EE would support allowing devices on a case by case rather than whitelisting a set number of devices.
