Sorry the Roam Abroad Pass does not include Japan, you can find the charges and available add-ons in our Roaming in Japan Help page.

If you have a pay monthly account, please text ROAMING to 150 before travelling to make sure the account is set up to use abroad.

I have the same problem. Why is roam abroad not available in Japan?

I am also trying to buy a daily data allowance and your system is down and your offices closed. 😠

What is happening when you try to add the data add-on? Are you getting any error messages?

Could you try manually connecting to a different Japanese mobile operator, to see if it allows you to add the add-on please?

1. (Tuesday) Bought daily roaming pass ~£7. It sat in "waiting" status for ages. Data available = 0. Switching wifi on or off seemed to make no difference.

2. Data appeared. Eventually.

3. Second day (Wednesday). Same thing. Except No data. Then no connrction (screen shots available on request). Then the EE app thought I was a new user and wanted me to set my pin.

4. Checking hours later (and I assume I have been forced to use UK mobile data at exhorbitant rates), there is no record of purchasing today's data. No add-on recorded in the app, and trying to buy it again I get "unable to connect". Tried with and not with wifi, same result.

What on earth is going on?

Thanks for updating us on what has been happening @litesmth.

Firstly, I can assure you that you won't have been charged for using UK data. The only charges you will see is for data you have bought while you are away.

After buying your second add on did you try manually switching networks as suggested above, to see if this helped?

I've tested the link and it seems to be working for me. Could you try this roaming cost calculator, and pop in Japan as the destination please?
