‘Message undelivered’ - unable to send SMS on iPhone 16

Hi all,

As above, I’m not able to send SMS messages to a particular number from my iPhone 16. I can send them to other numbers (I tested it with my sister and husband, and both received my texts), but texting this particular number results in ‘Message undelivered’ and the red exclamation mark next to the message.

Can anyone advise what I should do to fix this? So far I’ve tried turning RCS messaging off and on again, trying to find the messaging centre number but cannot find this in the settings, doing iOS updates. If anyone can advise, I’d be really grateful.

If you can send SMS text messages to some numbers but not others, then the message centre is self-evidently correct as the symptoms would otherwise be a complete inability to send any texts.

I suspect an Apple issue here, where you might be trying to send using proprietry iMessage but the recipient is using Android or a non-smartphone.

Thanks for your reply. The recipient definitely doesn’t have a smartphone so maybe that’s the issue. I’ll keep trying with the settings.
