Anyone ever experienced this?

Both mobiles on my account were inactive (powered off) for several months. When they were turned back on, neither of them found the EE network. I had four bars of signal and received a message saying the mobile was not registered on the network when I attemped a call. The usual troubleshooting with tech support ended in EE sending two new SIMS, which resolved the problem.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, was an explanation offered as to why it occurred?

I'm also interested in hearing any speculation as to what may have caused this.

Were they both pay monthly contract SIMs or pay as you go?

If they were on contract, did you continue paying monthly for them during the months they were turned off?

I have a monthly contract, not pay as you go. One of my first questions was to make sure the account was a monthly contract.
